I haven't written in a while. The pregnancy is progressing well. It's week 18 now and the baby's skeleton should be changing from soft cartilage to bone. The umbilical cord should be growing stronger and thicker as well. I assume that he can move his joins and the sweat glands should be developing by now. And of course the toes and fingers start to have prints. Yay! How exciting!!! I read a variety of baby books and pregnancy magazines. Deonn should be reading as well but i doubt that he does his reading as diligent as i do :)
I've been embracing my expanding belly. It's a little hard to dress in my current clothes so i ended up having to buy new clothes. Not exactly maternity clothes but more loose fitting clothes since my belly is not quite a bump yet, but definitely no longer flat tummy. I consider this the transition period and it's not easy to adjust. Not only that, i no longer wear high heels and have to turn to flats. That's quite a bummer because most of my outfits go well with heels rather than flats. Although walking in flats is more comfortable but i really miss my heels. I wear them occasionally when we go out though.
The doctor recommended me not to sleep on my back and that is the biggest challenge. I've always slept on my back and having to sleep on the side is quite a struggle. I really don't know how to do it. My arm hurts or it would go numb after a while. After much research, i bought the Snoogle Total Body Pregnancy Pillow. It claims to help you sleep better by providing support to your back, hips, and tummy. And of course: "total comfort from head to toes" LOL. It has a very interesting shape, almost like a letter C and swirls a little at the end. I have yet know how to use it properly but the "manual" has various positions that they recommend you to try. Deonn laughed at me when he saw this pillow, i wouldn't blame him because it looks really weird and the print patterns don't really help.
Here's a sneak peek at the pillow

I'm sure over time, i'll figure out how to use it but for now, the best use i've mastered so far is to twist it into a shell shape and put it behind my back while watching TV or reading my books. Not exactly a "pregnancy usage" but it should do for now.
