London is becoming her own person. She definitely understands simple instructions, though she may purposely
choose to ignore you when you say "no." The other day, she was trying to get into the waste basket after i firmly said "No, London, don't touch it". She looked at me and then continued to do so. It's one of those moments, you know for a fact that she understand what you just said, but she chooses to ignore you to see what would happen. I think she purposely pushes our buttons at times to see how far she can go. Her desire to explore is
stronger than her desire to listen to the warnings. What seems to be defiance is just her natural
curiosity to see how the world works. When we try washing her hands in the sink, i would adjust the water to the right temperature and the put her hands in there. She now knows how to turn the faucet on and off, and would keep doing it. Sure, it's fun to see the water shuts off and on, but it means i have to readjust the water temperature again. And it's not fun if she turns on the hot water and it runs on her skin.

Talking up a storm - Does she?? No, not really. Words and word-like sounds are now spilling out of London's, but i do not know if she is able to use them meaningfully. She nods her head now when she likes or agrees with something, or when she looks for approvals. I love it. I would put some carrots in her bowl and let her go at it, she would put some in her mouth and nods. The other day, i asked if she loves me and she nodded. What more can a mom ask for.

Growing physical independence - London is no longer a helpless infant who can't do anything without us.
She still needs plenty
of care and support, but her growing independence — evident in her solo
standing, stooping, and squatting — is becoming apparent. She can walk while gripping our hands, and she'll hold out her arm or
leg to help us dress him. At mealtimes, she grips a cup
and drink from it independently and hand-feed himself an entire meal (well, most meals). One thing that she loves to do is purposely drop objects
for us, to pick up. I do not see why this is fun to her, because i get tired of this dropping
game.

Overall, 11 months went by so fast and i just wish the time would slow down. Her first year almost goes by in a blink of an eye. I treasure every minute and moment. Happy 11 months London. Mommy and Daddy love you very much.
