Third Trimester

I have changed the blog title to “Tran-Henderson babies” but I have rarely talked about the second pregnancy and the upcoming arrival of our baby boy.  No specific reason, we just got carried away with the holidays and London really keeps us busy: with the new school, the unsuccessful potty-trained, and her awesomeness.

All we have done thus far is setting up the crib in the guest room and slowly converting it to the baby room. It will not be painted blue as I had envisioned. We’ll just keep the neutral beige color. I think if we get the right décor, we can still make it work.  Beside the crib, we really don’t have anything for baby boy just yet. I keep thinking we still have time, but maybe we don’t. It’s really only 2 months away. I just came to that realization when I was at my doctor’s office for my first official third trimester appointment; and when I submitted the application for stork parking at work *must be in third trimester* so I can stop parking illegally  at those “fuel efficiency” spots.  Things are progressing extremely well, I passed my glucose test. Whoo hoo! I failed last time with London, so I was really nervous this time.  The doctor said my weight gain is perfect. It wasn’t too good during week 21-24, I gained a whopping 11 pounds in those 4 weeks. They prefer it spread out and consistent so now my weight gain has “stabilized.”  I have gained 20 pounds so far.  The baby measured great and he is about 2.5 pounds now.

He should be the size of an acorn squash.

I still do a regular 40 hours work week.  It hasn’t been too bad.  I just need to remember to get up more often to walk around. There is a big difference in being pregnant in the winter vs. the summer.  I tend to be cooped up inside more and not as active as when I was pregnant with London. I blame lots of factors: the winter, having a toddler, time, and of course laziness.  I also eat more sweets than last pregnancy.  I think I eat at least one donut a week this time around.  However, couple days ago, i bought 2 and ate in one sitting. I didn't really feel bad or guilty afterward.  It is that good.

This is my favorite. I never eat donuts before.
or i can eat the whole plate.  nom nom!!!
I also drink more caffeine this time around. Based on webmd, pregnant women can consume up to 200 mg of caffeine per day.  I drink about 150 mg 4 times a week.  However, we make coffee at home and I just add creamer/milk.  It’s more cost effective, less time consuming, less unknown factors in my coffee cup than heading to Starbucks.

I stop picking London up around 4 or 5 months pregnant. She definitely misses her mommy picking her up. We just embrace on the floor or hug. She keeps saying “mommy will pick me up after baby comes out”. Or we hug like this

She loves this baby very much. She kisses and talks to the baby every morning and night.  Lately, she tries to pick up my belly and calls  it “im playing with the baby”.  If you ask her, she will tell you that the baby will be here in 3 months.   In fact, I do believe that the baby will be here in 2 months.

We are contemplating of having a baby shower, or sprinkle.  Deonn really wants one since it’s a celebration of his son’s arrival.  We just have to get thru the holidays first.  Hopefully we can have the party in January and hopefully it doesn’t snow on us.

As for now, we are enjoying our time with just 3 of us and the growing belly.  Can't wait for baby boy to come.
